Admission Procedures:

Horizons Academy accepts applications from families and students five through 20 years of age.

We accept applications from any student and family who can benefit from a specialized school experience. Students of all abilities and behaviors are encouraged to apply.

Admission and Acceptance Process:

(a) Completion of The Horizons Admission application form, historical records review, parent and student interview, and day visit.
(b) Agreement made between both parties that Horizons is the best match for the students needs.
(c) Completion of any pre-enrollment assessments.
(d) Team meeting to determine educational goals and support plan, quarterly progress meetings.

During the application process the parents are encouraged to supply Horizons with all current and historical documentation of the students education and life. This should include current Individualized Education Plan, cognitive testing, educational testing, psychological evaluations, behavior support plans, mental and physical health records.

A one-time, non-refundable application fee of $50 is required with all applications. At times a waiting list may exist. Applicants on the waiting list will be enrolled according to order of acceptance and need.

Upon acceptance , the parent will receive written notification of acceptance along with a registration form. The registration form must be completed and returned with a non-refundable deposit of $100 by the specified deadline to secure the student’s spot.

Horizons Academy accepts students from private placement and placement through the Department of Education.

Tuition:

Year-round school with quarterly breaks from instruction. Annual tuition $23,000 (base).
