Who We Are:

Horizons Academy is the only private, non-profit, applied behavior analytic special education school in Maui County. We are located in beautiful Haiku on one half acre of land. Our unique building and environment includes a kitchen, garden, greenhouse, computer lab, bathrooms with showers, classrooms, game room, outside lanai and project work spaces.

Our Mission:

Relying on the principles of applied behavior analysis and data based decision making. Providing services since 1987 Horizons is widely known, respected and recognized on Maui and in the state for a number of reasons:

- The quality, individualized, and experiential programs provided to each student.
- The significant academic, behavioral and self-esteem gains.
- The successes being achieved by students who have transitioned out of the
program and returned to mainstream schools or vocational placement.
- The successful community education programs and parent training workshops organized by Horizons.
-The high quality and expertise of the Horizons’ staff.

Recently, families have moved to Maui from the outer islands, continental U.S., Canada and Europe to enroll their children at Horizons Academy. Our program, curriculum, Horizons staff, administration, and board of directors are committed to providing a quality educational experience based on the best practices of education and behavior analysis.
